| Measure a length of ribbon around your wrist (the average adult wrist is 6"-7"), then add about 3"-4" to each end, leaving you with an average length of ribbon about 12"-14". Any thick wide ribbon, such as velvet, satin, or grosgrain is a good choice. Here we have chosen 1.5" single faced satin ribbon in Burgundy. |
| Cut the ribbon from the bolt. |
| Trim the ends of the ribbon at an angle, giving a professional look. |
| Fold the ribbon in half to find the center point and snip a small hole with a sharp pair of scissors. |
| Make sure that the hole is rather small, yet large enough for the stem of the flower to fit through. |
| Cut the stem of a large flower blossom to about 1-2" in length. Here we chose a white cymbidium orchid with a burgundy throat. Floral tape (link to floral taping here) the end of the stem. |
| Floral tape the entire stem two times, to create a thick cover for the stem. This keeps the flower from slipping out of the slit in the ribbon. |
| Insert the stem into the ribbon. |
| If using a silk flower bend the stem to one side. If using a fresh flower, make sure that the stem is not more than 1.5" long. |
| Wrap the ribbon around the wearers wrist, and tie into a knot. |
