| Measure the waist of the wearer, as for a belt. |
| Cut a length of ribbon the length of the waist measurement plus 16” (this is for the bow and tails). Lay the ribbon on a flat surface. Measure, in from one end, 8”, this is where you will begin adding flowers. Place a straight pin at this point to mark it. Do the same to the other end, 8” in. |
| Create tiny clusters of flowers, no more than 1” long, by gathering a few stems of small flowers together and taping with floral tape. Do this before assembling the sash. Start at the pinpoint, by removing the straight pin, and floral taping the flower clusters onto the ribbon. |
| Tape another cluster on top of the stems of the last cluster, overlapping each other and alternating the heads from right to left, to give a tight, compact, professional look. |
| Do this in the same manner, until the next straight pin is reached. Remove pin. Make sure that there are two 8” lengths of ribbon left at the ends, to tie the sash with. Trim the ends on an angle. Be careful when handling the sash, it will be flimsy and soft, rather than stiff. |
